A tale of child abuse within the public school system
Our daughter with autism, “P”, was abused in school by her autism class teacher when she was 5 years old.
Our daughter was not a “behavioral” child – in other words, she was not difficult. She was sweet and happy…until the abuse.
After the abuse, it was like someone flipped a switch. She became very violent, both physically and verbally. Some of that aggression persists to this day, almost 5 years later.
